RELAXER UPDATE – JANUARY 2017
Soft & Beautiful was the first relaxer I’ve used the very first time I got my hair relaxed. I tried this brand again last month at 10 weeks post. I must say that I was so pleased with the results that it’ll become my go-to relaxer now. I have no problem with Gentle Treatment relaxer, but Soft & Beautiful is more accessible.

I was excited to try it because it has all my favorite ingredients: olive, Vitamin E, tea tree oil, and aloe. The relaxer cream is creamy, not as hard as some of the other ones I’ve tried, which made the application so easy. Apart from the way I parted my hair for the touch-up, the consistency and effectiveness of this relaxer helped me save so much time in applying and smoothing that I had 4 whole minutes to spare, doing nothing.
This time around I parted my hair in three sections: two in the front and one in the back. I separated the 2 front sections into 4 vertical sections each, and the back I separated into 6 horizontal sections. After applying petrolatum jelly on my hairline and scalp, I started to apply the relaxer on my edges first because they were under processed last time. The retouch process went very smoothly and I was done in 16 minutes!
It took me 30 minutes though to completely rinse the relaxer out of my hair. I basically used the whole shampoo bottle that was in the relaxer kit. I deep conditioned with ORS Replenishing Conditioner after shampooing but I don’t think my hair needed the moisture. And I did apply too much of the leave-in conditioner that came with the relaxer kit. But I now know how to use the products for my next relaxer touch-up using this relaxer kit.

Overall it was a great experience. My hair came out soft and my scalp didn’t suffer. I can’t wait to use it again for my next relaxer update!
