5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD ROLLERSET YOUR HAIR

Most of the time, I can't see myself not setting my hair on rollers after washing my hair. I'll regret it throughout the week by having rough hair. It's also the only time throughout the week that my hair will be thoroughly detangled. And I personally don't like the frizzy look. My hair needs to be stretched, looks sleek and feels soft. Here are 5 reasons why I love setting my hair on rollers (and why you should too):

1) I love rollersets because my hair is stretched without the use of direct heat, especially when I'm due for a relaxer touch-up. Then I can easily see where my new growth stops and where my relaxed hair begins in order to avoid overlapping during the touch-up process. If I am stretching my relaxer, setting my hair on rollers is safer than blow-drying and flat-ironing it as less tension is applied on the line of demarcation; detangling becomes more meticulous but breakage is limited.

2) With stretched hair, it becomes more manageable to style your hair as you wish. Whether you want to wrap or curl it, you're able to do so without adding unnecessary tension or stress to your hair and scalp.

3) The hair looks thicker and fuller than blow-dried hair that is flat-ironed afterward. This was pointed out to me by a hairstylist years ago before I started my hair journey. Constant blow drying and flat ironing thin the hair, resulting in heat damage. And no one wants lifeless, limp looking hair!

4) It's a good way to track your hair growth if you're left with the impression that your hair is not growing. If you're impatient and anxious like I am to see more hair growth, but your hair is not long enough to be measured with a hair length check t-shirt, having to switch to bigger rollers once or twice a year will be very satisfying.

April 2017 - by then I was using the 2-3/4" rollers in some part in the front and the middle of my head

5) It's a great way to avoid knots and tangles since you have to detangle the hair in very small sections before setting it on rollers.

So that's it, my 5 reasons why I set my hair in rollers. If you love rollersets as much as I do, let me know!
