MY EXPERIENCE: ORS HAIREPAIR VITAL OILS FOR HAIR & SCALP

Ingredients: Vitis Vinifera (grape) seed oil, Methyl Soyate, Glycine Soja (soybean) oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (sweet almond) oil, Equisetum Arvense (horsetail) extract, Zingiber Zerumbet (awapuhi) extract, Urtica Dioica (nettle) extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (rosemary) extract, Yucca Schidigera root extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Zea Mays (corn) oil, BHA, BHT, Parfum (fragrance), Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamaldehyde, Lilal, D-Limonene, Linalool

Directions: Use daily or as needed. Part hair and apply to the scalp and damp or dry hair. Massage gently into hair and scalp. Style as usual.

ORS has been my first love when it comes to hair products, although I’ve used similar products before using ORS exclusively. I stumbled upon this oil after I’ve wondered if they had a hair and scalp oil in the Olive Oil line. I was also looking for an all-in-one oil that has natural ingredients so that I won’t have to purchase different oils to create mine. Basically I was looking for convenience.

I purchased it from Amazon and used it at three weeks post relaxer. I did my hot oil treatment using this product with heat (normally, I don’t) for about 20 minutes. I shampooed then deep conditioned as usual. I rinsed the deep conditioner out, detangled using Mane n’ Tail Detangler, applied my leave-in, did a short scalp massage with my oil mix then air dried. I must say although the smell was over-powering during the hot oil treatment, none of the smell was left by the time I finished washing and drying my hair. But my hair felt soft to the touch… and I’m all for products that softens my hair.

I wanted to keep using this oil for a while because it's for dry hair and scalp. But I found myself going back to my oil mix because I feel my hair thrived more using ingredients that I've combined myself than this product. And I can’t get pass the strong fuel smell while doing the hot oil treatment. I personally find it distracting.

I will keep using my current bottle of oil because I love the ORS brand. But it's not an oil that I will keep purchasing. Maybe I'll purchase other hair and scalp oil from their other lines and have a better experience with them. Happy hair journey until then :)!

2019 YEAR-END REFLECTIONS

So after many months since my last post back in May, I decided to check my stats tonight. After 5 years of existence, 66 posts (this one will make 67), JenMajBeauty.com has gathered 10073 views. I was quite surprised actually, considering the many life circumstances I had to navigate through to reach that number. I didn't expect it at all.
