You will notice a lot of product reviews on this site because I tend to get bored easily with hair products. So I switch it up very often. I also like convenience and practicality, so I'm always looking for products that combine ingredients that my scalp and hair like, that will also simplify my hair care routine. While I'm still looking for the simplicity, I've successfully found an oil that has ingredients that stimulate hair growth.

I've always had good experience with coconut oil at the beginning of my hair journey. While I couldn't use it as a sealant (it would sip through my hair scarf and pillowcases), I'd notice impressive growth when doing oil treatments, scalp massages, and inversion method. Stocking on oils to create my oil mixture would take up space in my already small bathroom cabinet. So eventually I needed a product that will include all the goodness of coconut oil and more.

After using a lot of not-so-impressive hair oils, I decided to go back to the basics and purchased the Vatika Naturals Enriched Coconut Hair Oil. I was (and still am) having a good experience with the deep conditioner which reduces my shedding and also makes detangling a breeze; so purchasing the oil seemed to be the right decision. And I'm glad I did.

New growth at 12 weeks post

Considering my goal towards a healthier lifestyle overall, this oil is a great addition to my hair care routine, aside from the preservative that's in it (a price to pay for convenience). Coconut oil is a great moisturizer which replenishes and strengthens the hair. Products with rosemary oil have always been good to my scalp as I experience less irritation and flakes. It's common knowledge that vitamin E promotes hair growth. The henna comprised in the oil penetrates the hair shaft and bond the keratin of each strand of hair, thus making the hair less prone to breakage. And I've been excited to see how the other herbs and fruits in the ingredients' list will make a difference in my hair growth. You can see it in how much new growth I've had at 12 weeks post relaxer. Truthfully, I've never experienced growth like that aside from my oil mix.

When I first purchased it, it had a white cap in the opening and the oil itself was hard like coconut oil does, and white. Over time, the oil melted and as you can see, it has a yellowish color and is very thin, which makes it easier to penetrate my scalp and hair.

I love this oil when I use it as a hot oil treatment/pre-shampoo treatment. I usually leave it on for an hour or two. It strengthens my strands before I shampoo. After I deep condition, my hair is easy to detangle and there's minimal shedding. I haven't used it yet regularly for my scalp massages. But the few times I did, I could feel my new growth coming out stronger.

Now, as for accelerated growth, it performs just as well as my oil mixture. I can say that I've won in both practicality and convenience with this oil. It's a great product and it's officially part of my hair care routine.
