5 DIFFERENT WAYS TO USE SHAMPOO
Last year, I have purchased a few shampoos in search of the next
Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture shampoo. But after I’ve found the Garnier Whole Blends Legendary Olive shampoo, I didn’t want to keep those other shampoos around for they
were taking up too much space in my bathroom cabinets. At the same time, I didn’t
want to just throw them away. So I’ve come up with ways to re-purpose them.
1. Clean hair tools
I’ve always cleaned my combs and brushes with any shampoo I might be
using at the time. But now instead of washing my combs, brushes and scarves
with my current shampoo, I’m using shampoos that I no longer use on my hair.
2. Clean bathroom
I found a DIY on Pinterest where you can make a shower cleaner
with vinegar and dish soap. So I thought to myself “why don’t I make one using
some shampoo instead?” So I diluted 2 tablespoons of shampoo in about 2 cups of white
vinegar, poured it in a spray bottle, and used that mixture to clean the tub
and the sink. I use the shampoo as it is to clean the toilet bowl.
3. Do laundry
Yup! You read that right! I did laundry with my shampoo! I figured
since there are claims shampoo contains detergent (and I didn’t want to go
out in the cold that day to buy laundry detergent), I got creative and washed some of my clothes with
some shampoo and a bit of liquid stain remover. I also remember my mom using shampoo when doing laundry by hand when I was little, to avoid the colored clothes to bleed into each other... I washed them by hands just to make sure they’d be really clean. I've yet to try it in the washing machine but I will surely update this post when I do.
4. Clean make up brushes
I’m starting to take applying makeup more seriously. My makeup brushes
will need to be cleaned so yes! I’ll be cleaning my makeup brushes with
shampoo.
5. Clean anything else that can be washed with soap
Last Sunday, I needed to wash a couple of things before putting them
away. So instead of using the laundry detergent or the dish soap, I reached out
for some shampoo.
So, this is how I’ve been re-purposing some of my shampoos lately. Keep in mind those shampoos weren't very moisturizing to my hair, despite the fact that they were marketed as being moisturizing. That was the reason why I attempted to re-purpose them. I am happy that I succeeded in doing so. Hopefully you will be successful trying out one of these ways of cleaning with shampoo.
