At some point, some of us who are on a hair journey towards
long and healthy hair wonder how women from India get to grow their hair so
long. I became one of those people and started looking for oils and hair
products catered to them. I knew they incorporate a lot of natural oils in their hair care routine including coconut oil, but I was also curious to know if they use any ready-made products. I’ve always seen this deep conditioner at my local
Walmart but never bothered to research it. One day I googled “Indian hair
products” and the link for this product came up. I was glad to see olive and
almond oil (favorites) in the ingredients’ list. I also have good experience with magnesium chloride in my drinks and was curious as to how this product would react to my hair. So
naturally, next time I went to Walmart, I picked the jar up with no hesitation (I generally struggle to buy products for which there are little to no reviews on them online).
There is a tin foil over the opening of the jar but I had already removed it prior to taking this picture. It has a generic hair product smell, and it's not overpowering. It's very thick in consistency, so thick that the product won't even budge when I turn the jar upside down. It cost around $9.00 after taxes. To me it was a good deal since some 360-370 ml conditioner bottles were costing just as much or more (this one is 1kg, which is a little bit over 1,000 ml)
I’ve used it 3 times so far successfully to deep condition on dry
hair. When applying the deep conditioner, I can feel the water from the
product penetrating my strands. I leave it on for an hour, not more. Because
I’ve left it on for two hours the first time I’ve tried it on wet hair,
and I ended up with something like this:

| Shedded hair at 2 weeks post relaxer after deep conditioning and detangling |
But when I use it to deep condition on dry hair and I rinse it out, I shampoo and condition; my hair is
left feeling soft, yet strong. I don’t even need to use a conditioner after I
shampoo because my hair is already so smooth! Because of this, I also feel this product could be great to co-wash with as well.
I've yet to try it again on wet hair, fearing my hair would shed as much as it did last time. But I have little shedding when used on dry hair. Nonetheless, I'd like to hear/read more positive experiences with this product from you if you have tried it before.
Until my next post, have a wonderful hair journey!
