HAIR CARE ROUTINE - 2016

It's been a while since I've posted about my hair care routine. So here is what I’ve been doing to my hair since the last time I talked about it:

Trim: when needed, which would be anything between 6 to 9 months.

Relaxer: between 10 to 16 weeks. I used to use the ORS Olive Oil Relaxer in normal, but I’ve switched back to Gentle Treatment relaxer in super.

Clarify: I clarify with ORS Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo:
o   Every four weeks
o   One week before and after a relaxer application
     Protein Treatment:
o   One week before and after a relaxer application with ORS Olive Oil Hair Masque
Wash: I wash my hair weekly and it involves the following steps:
o   Hot oil treatment with my oil mix for 2 hours
o   Deep condition with ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner for an hour
o   Remove excess water with a t-shirt
o   Detangle my hair with Mane 'n Tail Detangler before I air dry
o   Scalp massages with my oil mix
o   Moisturize with Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream and seal with either the Crème of Nature Argan Oil oil treatment or the OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-BreakageSerum.

I do scalp massages 2 – 3 times a week using my oil mix.

I moisturize and seal my hair 2 – 3 times a week whenever my hair is not in a low manipulation or protective style. I use Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream and the Creme of Nature Argan Oil oil treatment or the OGX Nourishing Coconut MilkAnti-Breakage Serum.

I’m planning on making the following changes soon:

- I will use the Wild Growth Hair Oil for my scalp massages instead of my oil mix, but will still use my oil mix for hot oil treatments.

-  As you may already know, the Tresemme Naturals line has been discontinued. I am honestly undecided what shampoo I should buy next.

- I purchased a liquid leave-in conditioner, Aussie Hair Insurance leave-in conditioner. I don’t really need it in my current routine, but I would like to add something else to my hair after applying the Mane 'n Tail Detangler that will not weigh my hair down.

      - The twin pack of the Gentle Treatment relaxer contains only 2 relaxers, 2 liquid activators, a pair of plastic gloves, a mixing stick and the instruction sheet. ORS Creamy Aloe shampoo is not color coded, so I bought the Isoplus Neutralizing shampoo to neutralize the relaxer out of my hair, just because I prefer to use a color-coded neutralizing shampoo.
v
        - I will replace my current leave-in conditioning cream with the Garnier Whole Blends Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter SmoothingLeave-in Conditioner.

I will talk about how the new added products are working for me in future posts.
