REGIMEN AFTER MY HAIR CUT - part 3
Creating a hair regimen is finding the products that your scalp and hair like and come up with ways to use them to help you achieve your hair goal, whether it be health, length, or both.
To me, both health and length were (and still are) my goals. So I bought everything that I could afford at the time that will make me grow strong and beautiful hair.
Before beginning my hair journey, my hair used to thrive on the ORS Olive Oil line. So I bought everything I would need in that line to care for my pixie cut. Then, I looked up the ingredients on the Wen's products I ordered last year and noticed some ingredients like aloe leaf juice, coconut oil, chamomile flower extract and rosemary extract would actually be good for my hair. I used to use olive oil to soften my hair and give it shine. So, I created the following regimen for the summer and fall based on previous good experiences and what I have learned from the hair community on YouTube and many hair websites/forums/blogs:
WASH DAY...
-Prepoo with a mix of olive and coconut oil overnight or for 30 minutes on wash day
-Co-wash with either Wen pomegranate or fig cleansing conditioner. When I am stretching my relaxer and have lots of new growth, I co-wash with Wen lavender because it tames my new growth and make it more manageable
-Deep condition for an hour with either ORS Replenishing conditioner, or Herbal Essence The Sleeker The Butter conditioner mixed with olive oil
-Use Infusium 23 with moringa oil leave-in conditioner, ORS hair lotion and seal the moisture with olive oil
-Use the ORS heat protection hair serum before blow drying on warm air if I am in a hurry, or I air dry (then I would not use the heat protection serum until I am ready to flat iron my hair)
-And use the ORS glossing hair polisher for shine before flat ironing with my pink Revlon flat iron.
DURING THE WEEK...
-Massage my scalp with a mix of olive and coconut oil every night
-Moisturize my ends with ORS hair lotion and seal with olive oil
-Depending on how I want to style my hair the next day, I set my hair on sponge rollers (which I do not recommend - sponge rollers are drying to the hair) and tie my hair with a Du-Rag.
EXTRAS...
-One week before applying a relaxer and on relaxer day, I deep condition with the ORS hair mayonnaise.
-If I feel my hair is dry, I prepoo with conditioner instead of oils.

All in all, I keep it simple so I can enjoy growing out my hair.
I added tea tree essential oil recently to my oils... I will probably blog about my results in the new future.
Until next time... happy hair journey :)
